The Albums!

Here’s the scoop on all of Christopher’s albums! (Three of his recent albums—The Basement Tapes, Wild Ideas and The Heart Chronicles—are not yet available on CD, due to the drop in popularity of the CD format.) All tracks from all seven of Christopher’s albums should be easily found online for downloading or streaming, and many can be downloaded from this website for free.

(If you’d like to own a physical CD, with the original packaging and liner notes, please send us a note (see contact page on this website). For comparison, ordering a Christopher Kent CD from Amazon gets you a copy of the tracks burned onto a CD. No real packaging, no liner notes, and just a burned copy, not a pressed CD!)

THE HEART CHRONICLES, Christopher’s seventh album, uses a combination of old and new original songs to tell the story of two love affairs. In Act One, Falling, the protagonist encounters an old flame that had once gotten away, and falls hard for her, leading to a passionate love affair. But in Act Two, Failing, the wonder fades and problems between them become obvious, leading to an emotional breakup. Fortunately, in Act Three, Fulfilling, the protagonist meets someone new. This time, with his better understanding of what love really means, things work out much better. (Written, arranged and produced by Christopher.)

WILD IDEAS, Christopher’s sixth album, uses a group of thought-provoking songs to ask the question: What if everything you think you know about the world is wrong?  Chris explains how this project came to be:

“Wild Ideas actually started out as a traditional book that I was planning to write. Several first-hand experiences with “unusual” phenomena caused my world view to change dramatically, and I wanted to share those experiences with others. I’d gotten as far as creating a detailed outline for the book — with the same working title, Wild Ideas — when I realized that it would take a staggering amount of time and effort to provide the kind of supporting stories and evidence from other sources that I wanted to include. So I shelved the book idea. However, at some point it dawned on me that I’d already written songs about many of those experiences. So, instead of writing a book called Wild Ideas, I could share those experiences through an album of songs dealing with issues like the nature of our beliefs, optimism versus pessimism, the pitfalls of certainty, and more controversial topics such as telepathy, reincarnation, lucid dreaming and people’s ideas about God. Not surprisingly, almost all of the songs that make up Wild Ideas are topical. Furthermore, each song contains some life lesson I learned as a result of those experiences.”

The album was written, arranged and produced by Christopher.
