Pointing the Finger
Words & Music by Christopher Kent
Cruising through disaster
I’m thinking to myself “What else could go wrong?”
 Lately everything falls apart
And even then it takes too long
I can’t get anyone to give me a break
Mud gets deeper every step I take
Life ain’t fair and justice is blind
Sometimes I think I’m gonna lose my mind
CHORUS:
But it’s easy to point the finger
It’s not hard to make somebody pay
I’m not going to dump on everybody else
Just because I’m having a terrible day
I used to think like a victim
But it was much too big a price to pay
Cause when you blame your problems on somebody else
 You give your freedom away
Some days everything’s sunny
But all I see is a big dark cloud
I’ve got a big pile of bills and no money
The neighbor’s music is way too loud
Sometimes living just makes me tired
You work hard and you still get fired
Well, plenty of people have done me wrong,
But if you live life angry you won’t live long
[CHORUS]
I know my life is in my hands
Sometimes I wish I did not know
Then I could blame this mess on somebody else
And let my righteous anger flow
But that would only make things worse
Like driving in circles when you’re stuck in reverse
 I’d rather spend my energy
Making my life the way I want it to be
CHORUS:
So I’m not gonna point the finger
I’m not gonna make somebody pay
Nobody’s running my life but me
And I’m planning to keep it that way
I used to think like a victim
But it was much too big a price to pay
Cause when you blame your problems on somebody else
 You give your freedom away
