Garden in the Sky
Words and music by Christopher Kent
Last night I saw the Earth from afar
A shining blue ball on a field of white stars
With deep turquoise seas, a sight to behold
And great sprawling continents of dark red and gold
I saw ice caps, and huge storms a thousand miles wide
With dark windswept clouds, lightning flashing inside
I saw northern lights, shifting curtains of green
And long mountain ranges, vast plains in between
This is our home, this is our wonderland
This is our world, where rivers flow and eagles fly
This is our chance to build our dreams
This is our miracle of life
This is our garden in the sky
I saw thousand-mile rivers that wander and run
Through great jungles and plains, as they glint in the sun
 I saw huge rolling deserts of yellow and brown;
On the side cloaked in darkness, lights of cities and towns
All along the horizon, a bright, glowing line
The atmosphere, clinging to Earth, lit from behind
I saw great river deltas that spread to the sea
A world filled with life, changing endlessly
This is our home, this is our wonderland
This is our world, where rivers flow and eagles fly
This is our chance to build our dreams
This is our miracle of life
This is our garden in the sky
We live our sheltered lives and seldom look beyond our walls
To see the beauty of our world, to see the wonder of it all
And our problems seem so huge until we step back, very far
And see the Earth, so full of life, and realize how blessed we are
This is our home, this is our wonderland
This is our world, where rivers flow and eagles fly
This is our chance to build our dreams
This is our miracle of life
This is our garden in the sky
