The More We Learn, the Less We Know

Words and music by Christopher Kent

I’m too tired to sleep, it’s too cold to snow
Don’t tell me you’re crazy—’cause if you were, you wouldn’t know
You’re too wordy for words, you’re so far out you’re in
Less is more and more is less, and if you lose you win
It’s true that it’s false that two wrongs make a right
Don’t tell me you’re colorblind—you see everything in black and white
Life has no meaning, if you know what I mean
Some days I need the truth, some days I need caffeine

Chorus:
Well it all makes sense, although it may sound crazy
Some days the road ahead is clear, other days it’s hazy
So don’t lose heart if answers come slow
‘Cause the more we learn in life, the less we know

Now the faster I go the behinder I get
My humor is dry but my jokes are all wet
Too much is never enough, at least that’s what they say
And we need to work harder at learning to play
That’s a definite maybe, I’m so calm I could scream
I thought I was asleep, but it was only a dream
The silence is deafening, this is a genuine fake
And they tell me that free advice can be quite expensive to take

CHORUS

Well I try to ask good questions; I try to understand
I try to fly, even though I’m not sure how to land
Some days I see the light, and some days I get burned
But I’ve made it this far, and I’ll tell you what I’ve learned:

I’ve learned that it all makes sense, although it may sound crazy
Some days the road ahead is clear, other days it’s hazy
So don’t lose heart if answers come slow
‘Cause the more we learn in life, the less we know
